Preparation before test

Fast 12 hours before appointment

Do not eat or drink anything except water. This includes coffee, tea, juice, and even chewing gum. You should avoid any food or drink for at least 8-12 hours before the test.

Avoid strenuous exercise

Strenuous exercise affects your test results, so it's best to avoid it for at least 24 hours before your test.

Drink plenty of water

Drink plenty of water before your fasting period begins, and continue to drink water during the fasting period. This will help prevent dehydration and make the blood draw easier.
